The Big Horn Basque Club, in Buffalo Wyoming, held its annual meeting and elections on Sunday, January 29th at the local American Legion Hall. The day began with mass with the particiation of the club's Basque Choir, followed by lunch and business meeting. As hosts of this year's NABO (North American Basque Organizations) convention, there was much talk about planning the event, and committees were also created and filled.
Buffalo, WY, USA. The Big Horn Basque Club held its annual meeting and elections on Sunday, January 29th at the local American Legion Hall. The festivities began at 10am with mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where the Basque Club Choir sang. After mass people then proceeded to the American Legion for lunch. The Basque club provided lamb, cheese, bread and wine with the rest of the meal carried in by members.
After enjoying the delicious lunch, outgoing president, John Camino, addressed the membership and brought them up to date on the club's activities including preparations for this summer's NABO Convention that will take place in Buffalo July 21-24, 2017. After some discussion, it was then time to elect the new board of directors. With John Camino's term as president coming to close, Jason Camino was elected new president with Johnny Juanicotena as vice-president, Randy Camino treasurer, Britney Marton (Camino) secretary with John Camino staying on a NABO co-chair.
After all the business was concluded, several of the members stayed to play mus, or just visit and enjoy each other's company.
