In other news, Txikito and other restaurants in this group, have published several job ads; more information to follow.
New York, NY. The sixth edition of the Txakoli Festival in New York, TxikiFest 2016 will be held on May 15, behind the Txikito Restaurant, in the Chelsea District. The event is one again being organized by Chef Eder Montero, from Bilbao, who manages Txikito along with his wife, New York Chef Alexandra Raij.
The festival is a kind of block party on the street adjacent to Txikit where they install booths with txakoli, food and Basque products. Attendees get a glass and can try all the Txakoli they want. So it becomes a Txakolin or Sagardo Eguna, but in the middle of Manhattan. The event is supported by and attended by txakolineros of three denominations of origin: Arabako Txakolina, Bizkaiko Txakolina and Getariako Txakolina, with the support (among others) of: BilbaoHistoriko and Bilbao Bizkaia.
The celebration is warming up with the presentation of its promotional poster, designed by Tomas Ondarra. It is a monumental bottle of Txakoli placed on an infographic reproduction of the exact location in New York where Txikito is located and TxikiFest is held.
