Caracas, Venezuela. Venezuelan Basques are celebrating issue 100 of Jazoera, the monthly newsletter that since April of 2011, has transmitted Basque news, and concerns from the Basque clubs in the Caribbean Country. There is no doubt that sharing information and having a channel that unites and communicates constitutes a valuable to maintain ties and create and strengthen the community itself. This is undoubtedly one of the merits of the Basque-Venezuelan Jazoera newsletter.
Jazoera has reached this milestone thanks to the continued commitment and efforts of Pedro Javier Arriaga Aguirre, Venezuelan, son of Basques and an active member, past president and current director of the Eusko Etxea in Caracas. Arriaga has assured EuskalKultura.eus that his work aims to honor the important Basque legacy that he received from his parents and the entire generation that endowed the Venezuelan Basque centers with life and the glorious pages, bequeathing the same to his daughters.
Arriaga Aguirre thanks everyone for the support that he has received on the project over the last eight years, and hundred issues, and is committed to continue with the same enthusiasm to carry out this important task of serving as an informative link to the members of the Basque-Venezuelan community, locally, in Euskadi and beyond.
