Jaialdi 2015 is finally here, the seventh edition since its beginning in 1987. EuskalKultura.com has delved into the Jaialdi program and parallel activities during this week in Boise and has provided a summary with links to the most inviting events, if you are in Boise, or to be able to follow the action from wherever you are. We will also continue to provide coverage over the coming days with articles and photo galleries from Jaialdi 2015.
Boise, ID USA. As in prior editions, the main days of the program will be Saturday and Sunday at the Idaho Expo, formerly the fairgrounds, with outdoor facilities as well as indoor pavilions. As a teaser for things to come, “Festara” will take place on Friday night at the Morrison Center, an evening that includes a large part of the artists and groups that have come to participate during the week, singing, musicians, choirs and dantzaris…
On Thursday, there will be Sports Night, an evening dedicated to rural Basque sports with athletes, men and women, from the Basque Country. These are not common in the area, and so arouse great interest. Moreover, the activities for each day are shaped by the official program, strictly that of Jaialdi, and by a succession of plans and offerings that have more or less officially become part of it. The result is a program that has very different proposals, of all kinds, united by their origin, or by nature, linked to the Basques.
