Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the women’s month, the Gender Cabinet of the Ministry of Productive Development in Argentina launched its magazine “Mujeres produciendo” (Producing Women). Invited by Paula Basaldúa, coordinator of the Gender Cabinet of the Ministry, the director of Emakunde-Basque Institute for Women, Izaskun Landaida Larizgoitia, and Sara Pagola Aizpiri, delegate of Euskadi in Argentina and Mercosur, participated in the publication with the text “Equality, a Collaborative Effort.”
In their article, Landaida and Pagola stress the work that has been done in Euskadi over the last 30 years in equality policies, highlighting the Law for Gender Equality passed in the Basque Parliament in 2005 as a milestone.
They also mention the international projection of Emakunde through the “World Program of United Nations on Essential Services for Women and Children suffering Violence,” and the participation in 2015, sponsored by the United Nations at a conference on equality in Argentina.
The publication has three main objectives: “make testimonies visible that show the trajectories and previous experiences that put in dialogue the valuable efforts to achieve gender equality on the path to development;” “Assume pending debates in the field of production;” and “Promote daily debates, especially those that take place in all areas of social and productive life.”
