It’s time for another edition of the “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country” festival next May 11th

The “Buenos Aires Celebrates” is a tribute of the capital city to the communities that live there together, and takes place in one of its more significant spots, around the Plaza de Mayo. In regards to the Basques, who have been featured twice at this mega-event, they are now preparing the third edition on May 11th. Organized by the Laurak Bat Basque club, with the support of FEVA, the “Buenos Aires Celebrates the Basque Country 2014," gathers a large number of clubs and will provide a wide range of activities from music and dance to sports and gastronomy.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.  After the successful editions carried out in 2011 and 2012, the Basque community anxiously awaits the arrival of the third “Buenos Aires Celebrates.”  The wait is over and the festival that promises to become a classic, not only on the city’s calendar but also on the Basque clubs’ will take place this year on May 11th from 11am to 6pm, on the Avenida de Mayo in front of the plaza to approximately Chacabuco street.

The 2014 edition of “Buenos Aires Celebrates,” includes new events yet to be seen, like the Herri Kirolak (Basque rural sports) exhibit thanks to Zazpirak Bat Basque club in Gral. Las Heras, or the original Basque cooking class that will be given by Chef Itziar Aguirre of Rosario and the Japanese chef trained in the Basque Country, Takehiro Ohno.  In addition, there will be a greater participation of Basque clubs and institutions, over twenty between the local ones ant those who will travel to Buenos Aires – a wide array of themes and products.
