Caracas, Venezuela. What still serves as the Eusko Etxea clubhouse in Caracas today was inaugurated in El Paraiso on March 5, 1950 with the presence of and talks by Jose Antonio Aguirre and Jesus de Galindez, welcomed at the Maiquetia airport by the delegate of Euskadi Dr. Luis Bilbao, club president and Jose de Elguezabal with Gonzalo de Aranguren. On the guest list were locals of Basque origin (Simón Gonzalo Salas, Aguerrevere, Aranguren, Arraiz, Anzola, Iturbe), diplomatic representatives of the Allied Powers (United States, Great Britain and Free France) and Venezuelan personalities headed by the President of the Republic, General Medina Angarita, as well as Basques from all over the Caribbean country.
