Santiago, Chile. The Delegation of Euskadi in Chile, and the Etxepare Basque Institute have organized a contest that aims to gather micro-stories, stories, or poetry “that can be about this historic event, or a perception, feeling or experience that is close to you,” to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika on April 26th. Maximum word count is 100 words.
Organizers emphasize that the “Bombing of Gernika is known as the first trial of total war. Today, 84 years later, from the pain, Gernika invites us to learn about the consequences of war and to work on the construction of peace and liberty.”
Deadline to submit your original works is Friday, April 16th. Texts should be emailed to c-avila@euskadi.eus. Give it a try!
