Images, songs and dance: Basque clubs in South America continue to celebrate Euskera Day

December is the time of the year to evaluate and celebrate. Self-evaluation in order to improve, and celebrations to enjoy time with friends, and make toasts, especially when there is a good reason for them. Basque clubs in South America have a good reason, since International Day of Euskera is celebrated in December and it also marks the end of the year. Today, the second photo gallery of ENE 2017.
Buenos Aires, Argentina. In the last few years, the celebration of the International Day of Euskera has grown notably in the Diaspora. Without a doubt, the Euskara Munduan Program, sponsored by HABE has a lot to do with this phenomenon, as well as with the number of Basque studies and teachers that have also multiplied. It is they who take responsibility of not only organizing the ENE celebrations, but also making sure that the language is included in every activity.

Celebrations that began around December 3rd continued for several days. Today, Gure Etxea in Cordoba celebrated and next weekend there will be at least two more celebrations in Viedma-Patagones where the Aberri Etxea Basque Club will celebrate ENE as part of its 20th anniversary festivities; and on Sunday Euskaltzaleak will celebrate since its December 3rd event had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
