Córdoba, Argentina. Basque Cultural Association in Cordoba, “Gerora,” along with members of its music workshop “Lurra eta Haizea,” invite you to participate in a free online course entitled “Dunbada, Sounds of Euskal Herria and their Listeners.” The course is open to anyone interested in Argentina but also to others anywhere else in the world who would like to learn more about the music of the Basque people. The course is in Spanish and it begins on Monday, June 29th.
The course is comprised of eight meetings that will discuss topics such as: 1. Euskal Herria; 2. Orality, 3. Basque Musical Instruments; 4. Music; 5. Pulses; 6. Zanga; 7. Aesthetics and 8. Final Reflections. The class will combine the platform Moodle with videoconferencing.
Material will be presented every Monday on the platform and meetings will take place on Mondays from 8 to 9:30pm (Argentina time) working on the aforementioned elements. Module 1 Material will be available on June 29th and the first video conference meeting will be on the following Monday, July 6th when Module 2 material will also be made available, and so on during the 8 weeks.
Prior knowledge of music or theory is not required; however, it is recommended that you have a good internet connection for the live meetings and an email to access the platform.
