Buenos Aires, Argenitna. There are various ways to celebrate the feast of San Juan and the Basque clubs in the Diaspora reflect this variation. As with every activity that the clubs carry out, this ceremony also includes a blend of Basque culture with features of local identity. The bonfire's real date is June 23rd, the eve of San Juan, but many clubs hold events on the weekend, in order to gather the largest number of members and friends possible. That is why, the majority of festivities were held this year from June 24-26.
Other clubs decided to postpone their events even longer. In the case of Bei Aurrera, the Basque club in Viedma and Patagones, they will celebrate on July 2 beginning at 6pm with a bonfire, dancing and Taska. In Chivilcoy, they will also celebrate on the weekend, specifically on Sunday, July 3, because the original event planned for June 26, had to be postponed due to bad weather. The Beti Aurrera club said that it will continue with its original program.
