Azul, Argentina. The city of Azul in the Province of Buenos Aires celebrated another anniversary of its founding with a day organized by the city that begin in the morning with a tribute to founder, Pedro Burgos; mass at the cathedral; a commemorative parade, and music and dance performances on Avenida Urioste. Along with other local institutions, the local Basque club, Gure Txokoa, was also part of the festivities.
With flags and typical costumes, the individuals in charge of representing the Basque community at the event on December 16th were standard bearer, Sara Aristu; Maria Ines Etchevers Aizpiri who carried the banner and Graciana Garcia who accompanied them.
The Basque club also made two announcements for the last two weeks of the year. On the one hand, they will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the club and on the other; the Basque student body has announced a new production of “Gure Patxarana” 2018. Anyone wishing to try it should stop by the club.
