The Basque presence at the event in Alta Gracia dedicated to its local foreign communities could be seen not only in the inaugural parade but also in the music and dance performances that took place on the main stage. In the parade that ran through the middle of town the Basque community was represented doubly by the dancers from Gure Txokoa in Cordoba city and that of Euzko Etxea in Villa Maria.
Alta Gracia, Argentina. The 2015 edition of the meeting of communities the “Whole World in Alta Gracia” festival ran from January 31 to February 7 and gathered top artists, - Soledad Pastorutti, and Abel Pintos, among others, along with local communities and a huge audience. Invited by organizers and in hopes of guaranteeing the presence of the Basque culture, the Gure Txokoa in Cordoba was in charge, as in prior editions, of carrying the Ikurriña, and performing traditional dances on stage. But the members of the Cordobatarrak dance group weren’t the only ones assigned this task; a group of youth from the Euzko Etxea in Villa Maria also took part in the inaugural parade of this, the 28th edition of the festival.
In the same way, and as part of the gastronomic offerings, there was also a Basque stand which offered paella and rabas (squid) over the eight nights. The dantzaris from the Cordobatarrak also danced in front of the stand to attract and entertain visitors.
