Only a month left until the end of the year, and so Basque clubs in Argentina have already started preparing their 2017 calendars.  Chascomus will be the site for Udaleku Summer Camp January 3-7, organized by the Zingirako Euskaldunak.  Deadline to enroll is December 10th.  The Dantzari Get-Together in Cañuelas will be held on Aberri Eguna, April 8-9th. 

Chascomus, Argentina.   More and more Basque clubs in Argentina are organizing activities whose goal is to include members and friends from other clubs. This is the case of Udaleku in Chascomus that has been the site for some years of the event for children from several Basque clubs.  Udaleku 2017, will take place January 3-7, and will provide participants a wide range of activities so that children between the ages of 11-15, can enjoy the Basque culture.  There will be workshops on pilota, dantza, music, gastronomy, Euskara and mythology, to name a few.

The youth at the hosting club are in charge of coordinating the activities with the help, this year, of a young Basque, Ondiz Furundarena, who is currently studying in Argentina and who will help Zingirako Euskalduank with camp.

Udaleku costs 1,300 pesos.  The club also explained that they will pay part of the costs to reduce the final Price.  Deadline to enroll is December 10th and payment information follows:

11th Dantzari Get-Together

The Dantzari Get-Together that is organized annually by the Denak Bat Basque Club in Cañuelas to celebrate Aberri Eguna has reached its 11th edition in 2017.  The event will take place on April 8-9th with a program that will be similar to that of prior years.  Dance performances on Saturday will take place at the San Martin Plaza, and the dance will be to the music of local musician ‘Jopo’ Galfredo, with the farewell lunch taking place on Sunday at the Rural Sociedad.
