Rosario, Argentina. Geroa Bai Argentina reached out to us in regards to the upcoming Navarrese regional elections. Remember that in the coming weeks Navarrese citizens will go to the polls on two occasions; April 28 for Spanish Parliamentary Elections, and again on May 26th for Town Hall and Navarrese Parliamentary elections that then designates the president of Navarre, along with choosing its representative to the European Parliament.
Navarrese that live abroad still maintain the right to vote for representatives in the Navarrese and European Parliaments, if they fulfill the following requirements: be registered in the CERA (Census of Spanish Citizens Residing Abroad) and request a ballot. The deadline to vote in May is April 27th and procedure on how to do so can be found at this link. Deadline for April elections has already passed.
Voting documentation from Navarre will be sent between April 30-May 6, and those returning ballots by mail, must do so by May 21st. In person voting is also an option at consulates on May 22, 23 and 24.
Geroa Bai Argentina reminds everyone that today there are 27,442 Navarrese living abroad with voting rights, distributed in the following manner: in Argentina, 7.960; in France, 3.028; in México, 2.119; in the US, 2.041; in Ecuador, 1.580; in Chile, 1.295; in UK, 1.162; in Uruguay, 1.107; in Germany, 874; in Venezuela, 719; and in Switzerland 510.
