Paris, France. The Paris Basque club was very happy with how the events it organized to celebrate its 10th anniversary in Saint Ouen were received.
The festivities started on November 15 with the screening of the animated film Gartxot. The next day there were various open workshops in collaboration with other neighborhood associations. At night the group Berri Good gave a concert that was attended by more than 200 people who danced and enjoyed the music.

On Sunday the 17th there was a cooking contest with more than 250 diners and great atmosphere. On the same day, during the official event of the anniversary, the mayor of Saint Ouen, Jacquiline Roillon, re-baptized the neighborhood with the name Santuene, chosen by club members. Others attending the event were Asier Vallejo, Director for the Basque Community Abroad, representing the Basque Government, and Mikel Erramouspe, president of Euskal Kultur Erakundea (EKE), the Basque cultural institution of Iparralde.

The festivities continued the following weekend, on November 22, a bertso afaria was held attended by 60 people. “It was a surprise that so many people attended and enjoyed the verses by Miren Amuriza and Xan Alkhat,” Maitane Larronde (PEE) told EuskalKultura.com.
