Donostia-San Sebastian. The Quebeceko Euskaldunak Association organized various activities on December 3 to celebrate the International Day of Euskera and sent us some photos to share with our readers. The Basque teachers, Amaia, Marie and Amets, proposed a practical activity to their students; take to the streets of Montreal with posters in Basque with French translation to make the Basque language visible.
Some young Basque students celebrated Euskera in the streets of New Jersey, USA with music, and some other, like this girl of Montreal in the picture, playing a classic piece like Agur Jaunak on the clarinet that was translated into English for her friends.

The Quebec club also organized a screening of the documentary Bertsolari in its original Basque verion with French subtitles. The event was attended by several students from the department of Translation and Philology of the University of Montreal, along with Basque students. The theme of the movie, bertsolarismo, enthused the audience who showed great admiration for the art and the bertsolaris’ talent.
In London, the London Basque Society organized a mintzapraktika or a conversation class with some of the Basque students. The club published some photos of the event on its website, as well as this video where you can here these euskaltzales in London speak Basque.
In Mallorca, the Euskal Etxea Artea celebrated a cultural weekend in honor of Euskararen Eguna. On December 7th there was a Basque dance workshop and the documentary Gazta zati bat by Jon Maia was shown. On the next day, members enjoyed a meal together with music and song to entertain them.
