San Francisco, CA. The San Francisco Basque Club and the Basque Cultural Center will celebrate the 38th Anniversary of the center, February 15-16th along with hosting the Winter NABO meeting. Highlights of the weekend include the screening of the documentary “The Seven in One Way” by Denise Orpustan Love; pilota matches with pilotaris from Euskal Herria; dancing to the rhythm of the mythic music group EGAN; and the presentation of the center’s Bizi Emankorra award posthumously to Jacques Unhassobiscay.
The weekend will also include the winter NABO meeting on Saturday morning. Both afternoons will include joko garbi and eskuz pilota, mass on Sunday with the participation of the klika, dantzaris, txistularis, bertsolaris and the San Francisco Basque choir, Elgarrekin, followed by the presentation of the Bizi Emankorra award; Saturday and Sunday nights will also include dances to the music of EGAN; all of this midst wonderful meals, with singing and improvised verses, meetings and above all a great celebratory, friendly atmosphere.
