From last Saturday through November 15, Basque photographer, Bego Anton, will exhibit in Washington DC  as part of the FotoWeekDC Festival.  The exhibit is called "Everybody likes to ChaChaCha" and includes photos of people dancing with their dogs.

Washington DC USA.  “Everybody likes to ChaChaCha” is a combination of medium format portraits, as a short documentary.  During her residency at the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP, New York) Bego Anton traveled throughout the US, from New York to Arizona, to get to know men and women who dance with their dogs.

The exhibit tells the story of men and women who dance with their dogs, and dogs who dance as if they were human.  “Musical Canine Freestyle” is a choreographed show where the dog and human move together.  They choose the song and outfit that coincides best with the lyrics and dance as one.  They weave, jump, twist, roll, walking backward, forward and move diagonally.  Sometimes the link between human and dog is so strong that they begin what is called a pink bubble, that dimension where they become a single being and the rest of the world disappears.

The festival is being organized for the second time in a row in collaboration with the official Spanish Cultural program in the US Spain Arts & Culture, as reported by the Etxepare Basque Institute.
