Sao Pablo, Brazil. The General Assembly of the Eusko Alkartasuna Basque Club in Sao Paulo reelected Pilar Alava as its president for the 2020-2024 term on January 26th. Alava told Euskalkultura.eus that she will continue to support the objectives and current lines of action, that is “keeping our roots alive and making our customs, folklore, language, gastronomy…known to more people here in Brazil.”
With these lines of work as a guide, the institution will resume teaching Basque classes thanks to irakasle Estebe Ormazabal, originally from Beasain and former club president, who has resided for years in the city. Classes will begin on March 7th from 2:30-5pm at the Catalan Center, located on Lins de Vasconcelos 1807. Classes are free.
