The latest issue of the digital newsletter from the Delegation of Euskadi in the US and Canada, “Basques,” included announcements of various activities that will take place next weekend as part of the celebration of the International Day of Euskera.  It also included other stories, including one on the visit by Basque runners of the New York Marathon this year.  The delegation will raffle 10 t-shirts like those worn at the Marathon.  Do you want one?  We’ll tell you how to.  

New York, NY.  The Delegation of Euskadi in the US has published another issue of its digital newsletter in English, “Basques.”  Among other stories, it includes activities planned at some of the Basque clubs to celebrate the International Day of Euskera.  At the University of Rhode Island, they will celebrate the second week of December with a conference on multilingual education based on the Basque Country experience, with Professor Miren Azkarate as invited speaker.  Azkarate, who was the Minister of Culture, in previous Basque Government administrations, will meet with the local Basque community and will share information on learning Basque with them.

In Boise, the local community has organized an entire week of activities that include visits to the Basque Museum, workshops on Basque Christmas Carols and dance.  On December 4^th at the UC Santa Barbara there will be an academic get-together on Basque with Iker Arranz and Unai Nafarrate as guests.

The publication also told about the event that took place on November 1st when Delegate, Ander Caballero, welcomed runners in the New York Marathon.  The runners wore a special t-shirt especially designed for the event with the Basque Country logo.  The Delegation has also announced that they will raffle 10 of these t-shirts.  Do you want one?  Please visit  here.
