Donostia-San Sebastián. Besides training Basque teachers in the heart of Basque communities around the world, the Etxepare Basque Institute now provides teachers the possibility to improve and maintain their level in a Basque environment. In less than 10 days, in a combined effort of FEVA and the Institute, a group of teachers who completed their online training in July of 2019 and completed their accreditation in Buenos Aires, will begin an intensive course at the Maizpide Euskaltegi in Lazkao. The group includes 13 individuals from Argentina, 3 from Uruguay and one from Chile.
“After completing their training, we wanted the last part of the process to take place in Euskal Herria. This is why they will take intensive courses at Maizpide, following all of the health protocols of course,” Kinku Zinkunegi, program coordinator, explained. “Don’t forget that many of these teachers achieved the level that they have 10,000 kilometers from the land of Euskera, and that is why it is so important to immerse them in a Basque speaking context.”
They are also taking the extremely complicated situation into consideration, especially in regards to international flights. If all goes as planned, the group will arrive at Lazkao on January 10th to begin glasses on Monday the 11th.
Zorte on, taldea!
