San Nicolás de los Arroyos, Argentina. The Euzkal Etxea in San Nicolas in the province of Buenos Aires, celebrated its 75th anniversary with lunch in which, in the words of the club’s current president, Ana Maria Erausquin, “the meeting prompted the return of many members, who for one reason or another, had stopped coming.” Among them, were some of the club’s cooks who have prepared big paellas feeding thousands of people, children in need as a symbol of the solidarity activity of the club.
The festivities began with a performance by the dance group, Igaraba Taldea, and the Errekatarrak Choir. The former club presidents were recognized, from the first, Bernardo Indao, to the last, Damian Cebey, and other distinctions were made to those who have participated actively on the remodeling of the clubhouse for its 60th anniversary as well as in other solidarity activities. Remember that the “Etxe Nasai” (feeding) program is a pioneer in solidarity projects for the community.
The Basque club also honored various youth who are today the references of the club’s activities, with dance, music, Euskera and the choir, “Those who allow all the work that we do to be shown,” Erausquin explained. “It was an emotional celebration, in which we returned to gathering people that we had not seen for a long time, and who also promised on the anniversary that they would participate in our activities again,” she said excitedly.
Zorionak on the anniversary and all the good deeds! Lunch photos, here.
