Elias Echegoyen, one of the last living founders of the Eusko Alkartasuna Basque Club, created in Sao Paulo in 1959, passed away this week.  A few months ago, the director of EuskalKultura.com visited Sao Paulo and recorded a short video of Elias.  Originally from Xabier, Navarre, this sensitive and committed Basque will be remembered at a funeral on Saturday.  Our condolences to his family and to all of his friends in the Basque community in Brazil.

Funeral services for Elias Echegoyen will take place on Saturday, October 15 at 16:00 in the Parish of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe located on Rua República do Iraque, 1839, Campo Belo, Sao Paulo. GB.
