Donostia-San Sebastian. Just as chefs from abroad like Alain Ducasse, Joel Robuchon or Wolfgang Puck, Elena Arzak will take her cooking to a prestigious place in London.
The Ametsa, that is located near Buckingham Palace (specifically in the Halkin Hotel), will replace the Nahm, the first Tai Restaurant to win a Michelin star outside of its country (it lost it last year).
To remain faithful to the Arzak philosophy, father and daughter will advise the team of five chefs that work in the kitchen at the Ametsa. According to Elena, as reported in the Evening Standard the menu may change to include more products of British origin.
Elena Arzak was named the best chef in the world in 2012, and runs the Arzak restaurant in Donostia-San Sebastian along with her father. The restaurant holds three Michelin stars and is ranked number 8 in the 50 best restaurants in the world in 2012 (World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Restaurant magazine).
