Rosario, Argentina. The Zazpirak Bat Basque Club in Rosario in the province of Santa Fe held its Annual General Assembly and held elections for its board of directors that will be led this term by Guillermo Canut Garramiola. Accompanying him are Vice-president, Maite Lerchundi, Secretary Sebastian Larraza and Treasurer, Lorena Pirona.
The General Assembly took place on March 13th and after the elections the new board is now comprised of:
-President: Guillermo Canut Garramiola
-Vice-president: Maite Lerchundi
-Treasurer: Lorena Pirona
-Pro treasurer: Leandro Bilbao
-Secretary General: Sebastián Larraza
-Secretary of Acts: Mario Ferreyra
-Directors: Dolores Martínez, Micaela Bereciartua, Santiago Bereciartua, María Eugenia Iribarren, Fernando Lizarbe, Lorea Aguirre, Soledad Echazú, Iker Eyheraguibel.
With its new board, the Zazpi is returning to another course in April with Euskera classes. This year there will be two Basque class levels: one beginning level on Wednesdays from 5pm-7pm, with professor Alejandra Persig (beginning on April 7th) and an introductory course that includes both Basque language and culture taught by Fernando Lizarbe on Mondays from 5pm-7pm beginning on April 12th.
Also resuming in April are classes at the National University of Rosario taught by Professors from Zazpirak Bat: Beginning Basque on Monday from 1pm-3pm with Alejandra Persig, and Advanced Basque on Thursdays from 3pm -5pm, taught by Begoña Tisera (beginning on April 8th).
