After their soccer season is over, Eibar will pack their bags and leave for the US where they will be on a short tour of friendly games.  On May 22 they will play in Philadelphia against the Philadelphia Fury and on May 25 they will play the New York Cosmos in Las Vegas.  The team invites the Basque community to come see them at these games and cheer for them. 

Eibar, Gipuzkoa.   Eibar will head to the US at the end of May for its first tour outside of the Basque Country after its season ends. The team, one of the lowest budget teams in Spain’s first division, has managed to hold its spot easily this year and is already preparing for next season.

One of the goals of the tour, according to the club, is to introduce Eibar to its shareholders and international fan clubs.  In addition, the Eibar team has contacted the Basque Diaspora in the US, and has already received proposals for meetings and activities from Las Vegas and New York.

“The US is one of the countries that worked intensely in the day to increase our capital in 2014, and so we are delighted to be able to travel there and to meet the people who supports Eibar.  In addition, while in the US, Eibar is counting on the Peña Eibar USA, an association of friends that follow the team closely and with whom they hope to meet during their trip to America,” Gema Baqué, Manager of Marketing and Business explains.  [More Eibar fans in the US Eibar Indiana].

Philadelphia and Las Vegas

The team will leave from Bilbao to New York on May 18.  ON May 22 they will play a match in Philadelphia against the Philadelphia Fury at the Richard Wackar Stadium that holds 5,000 spectators.  The game will be at 5pm EST, 11pm Euskadi time.

The second match will take the team to Las Vegas where they will play against the New York Cosmos at the Sam Boyd Stadium that holds 36,800 spectators.  This game will take place at 7pm PST and 4am Euskadi time
