Barcelona, Catalonia. Beginning at the end of September in Barcelona, the concerts of the Euskal Herria Sona Music Festival 2019 had to be suspended due to the situation Catalonia was experiencing in October. The Euskal Etxea in Barcelona, organizers of the event, published a note explaining the suspension and expressed its support for the solutions discussed in the Catalan conflict. Subsequently, new dates have been chosen for the cancelled concerts, the most of them will be at Euskal Etxea's headquarters.
Rap singer from Tolosa, Nikotina and the local Senyor Oca group performed on November 9th and today, November 15th, the Basque rock group, Eskean Kristo and the Barcelona Rock Orchestra will perform at the Euskal Etxea, playing rock classics with a touch of classical instruments and music.
Next week at the Sidecare, it will be the Basque rock band’s turn, Zea Mays and the day after, November 23rd, the group Bad Sound will make everyone dance to the rhythms of dub and reggae, accompanied by the Valencian group Maluks. On November 30th, Trakamatraka and Belatz will perform at the Euskal Etxea: the first plays music with recycled objects, jazz and African music, while the second is mostly a rock band.
Finally, probably in January (TBD) the Basque Electro-Swing Group Anita Parker will close the EH Sona Program at the Euskal Etxea.
