Córdoba, Argentina. It is a privilege. The Gure Txokoa Basque club in the city of Cordoba invites everyone to a virtual talk this Thursday by international composer and choir maestro, Javier Busto (Hondarribia, 1949). As the Cordoba Basque Club president, Alejo Martin explains that since they could not hold the club’s Choir Meeting this year due to the pandemic, they decided to launch an activity “that would allow us to learn a little more about choral activity in Euskal Herria, Spain and Europe.”
They are able to do so thanks to Javier Busto, an international reference of contemporary Basque choral music whose compositions are performed daily by choirs of every type and condition on five continents. Regarding Argentina, Busto has visited the country more than once, invited to participate in courses and concerts by the Lagun Onak Choir in Buenos Aires or the “Madryn Canto,” in the city of Puerto Madryn.
Javier Busto’s talk will take place on Zoom this Thursday, June 11th, at 7pm (Argentina time, 3pm in California, or midnight in Euskal Herria). Spots are limited and so you must enroll with “Open Talk,” in the subject line via email writing to corodelseminariolibertador@gmail.com. Hurry so you don’t miss out.
After the talk, its recording will be available on the Liberator San Martin Theater’s, Facebook page so if you are not able to follow it live, you can watch it later on.
The event enjoys the support of the Association of Choir Directors of the Republic of Argentina (ADICORA).
