Organized by the Zingirako Euskaldunak Basque club in Chascomus, in the province of Buenos Aires, Udaleku (Basque summer camp) is for children between the ages of 13-16 and will begin on January 5. For a week, participants will enjoy various cultural and sporting activities linked to the Basque Country. The deadline to register is December 13.
Chascomus, Argentina. Organized by the Chascomus Basque club Udaleku has become a real summer camp with games, sports, outings, and of course with the responsibilities that come along with co-existing with day-to-day chores being shared. Specifically regarding this camp, it should be noted that every activity aims to delve deeper into Basque culture through games, artistic expressions and sports.
For five days, with chaperones from the Basque Country and other places, Zingirako Euskaldunak will become the site for Basque camp where the children can practice dance, pelota, herri kirolak and mus as well as submerge themselves in the special world of Basque music and gastronomy, Euskera, mythology all from a playful perspective.
Udaleku will begin on January 5 and will conclude on Friday the 9th. It is geared towards children between the ages of 13-16 and registration closes on Saturday December 13th. Cost for the camp including activities, room and board is $1,300 per person. To reserve a spot a deposit of 50% of the total coast must be made with the rest due on the first day of camp.
