Vitoria-Gasteiz. There are barely six days until September 8th Euskal Diasporaren Eguna, or Basque Diaspora Day. If you already planned how to celebrate it in your Basque club, perfect! But please send the details to euskaletxeak@euskadi.eus in order to be included in a program of celebrations from around the world that the Basque Government will spread and share to highlight and publicize the celebration.
If you haven’t done so yet, please send your information to the aforementioned email, as soon as possible including the time and date of the event and what it will be like.
As you already know, there is not just one way to celebrate. Each one can do so as he/she likes, feels or wishes.
It can take place on September 8th, or a few days before or after too.
In Euskadi, the Basque Government will celebrate on September 8th at an institutional event in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The important thing is to join the rest of the Euskal Etxeak and Basques in the world to express a feeling of belonging. To pay tribute to all of those who made the Diaspora and preceded us, and contributed or continue to contribute today from the place in the world they have adopted as their new home, building a life, and disseminating the Basque culture from which they come.
