The ninth edition of the Cañuelas Aberri Eguna event will take place on April 11 and 12 and as every year all Basque clubs in the area wishing to participate are invited. Activities will begin on Saturday afternoon with a dance performance at the Plaza San Martin, and will continue with a public dance, concluding with a farewell luncheon on Sunday.
Cañuelas, Argentina. Even if a few weeks are left until Aberri Eguna or Day of the Basque Homeland to be celebrated on April 5th this year, the club hosting this year’s Dantzari Get-Together has been busy finalizing details for the event. As in prior editions, the delegations will begin arriving in Cañuelas on Saturday afternoon, and the dance performances will begin at 6pm in the city’s main plaza. This will then be followed by a dance, and a farewell luncheon on Sunday.
Vouchers are divided into two categories: dantzaris and directors who represent one club and participate in the Saturday night event in the plaza will pay $350. The club reminds everyone that this voucher is subsidized by local sponsors. In regards to chaperones, their voucher will be $700. In both cases, the voucher includes lodging, lunch and Saturday night’s dance, as well as breakfast and lunch on Sunday the 12th. While the Denak Bat dantzaris are anxious for this ninth edition, they continue their regular 2015 practices. The group gathers on Saturdays at 6pm at the clubhouse. The euskal etxea also let us know that the Basque community was present at the city’s 193rd anniversary events on January 22nd.
