Denak Bat Basque Club in Mar del Plata launches Semana Vasca 2018 with a video at the Festival of the Ex Dantzari

Ex Dantzari Festivities at Denak Bat took place June 10-11th.

Next year the Denak Bat Basque Club in Mar del Plata will celebrate its 75th birthday and will celebrate it by hosting the Semana Nacional Vasca Argentina 2018. Semana Nacional will take place in the middle of the southern hemisphere spring, and is why the center has begun promoting the event with a beautiful video that it presented during the festival of the Ex Dantzari. Mar del Plata, Argentina. It hasn’t’ been easy since the bad weather has played a trick on its recording, but the Basque Club has finally been able to finish its presentation for the Day of the Ex Dantzari with a video promoting Semana Nacional Vasca 2018. At the event, dantzaris of all ages, and from all eras of the Beti Alai dance group danced Arkuak in significant places in the city, like the at the rambla, the pier, the beach and the coastal avenue. Next year the club will celebrate its 75 years and Semana Vasca 2018 will take place as part of the anniversary festivities.

Festival of the Ex Dantzari
This successful Denak Bat event reached its 30th edition in 2017. The festivities took place on June 10-11 and gathered some 400 people, with representation from Basque clubs in Necochea, Buenos Aires, Maipu, Chascomus, Rosario and Bahia Blanca.
The festival ran all weekend long, although the main attraction took place on Saturday night with a dinner where typical dishes could be enjoyed along with the choreographies, one at a time, presented by the visiting dantzaris. The festivities concluded with a big “raviolada’ as a farewell luncheon on Sunday.
“The festival was spectacular, Ignacio Oreja, reference of the Beti Alai group told EuskalKultura.com “And it was very emotional. Among other guests, some of the dancers from 1987 who traveled to Plentzia, on a special trip that originated with Gaztemundu. Attendees fro that trip were: Juan Pedro Arin from Montevideo, Tato Sicardi from Maipú, María Amalia and Juan Manuel Lopetegui from Bahía Blanca, ‘El Vasco’ Echevest from Tandil and Fernanda Fignoni from Rosario,” the dantzari said.
The festivities of the Ex Dantzari 2017 are over, but Denak Bat has work ahead for the 2018 festivities.
