Ispaster, Bizkaia. The Basque Government and the Ispaster town hall invite everyone to attend the event marking the second edition of Day of the Basque Diaspora, Sunday, September 8th at noon in the plaza of this Bizkaian town with the participation of Lehendakari Urkullu. The presentation took place last Friday in Ispaster attended by the Secretary General of Foreign Action, Marian Elorza, and the Director of the Basque Community Abroad, Gorka Alvarez Aranburu, along with local Mayor, Garbiñe Saenz de Buruaga.
According to the Secretary General, Marian Elorza, the day will be celebrated with the possibility of “bringing the Basque Diaspora Day celebration closer to our entire geography.” It will also include a large participation and involvement of the town’s neighbors with theater, music and dance activities etc. Already, Basque communities in more than 15 countries have joined in with events in dozens of Euskal Etxeas all over the world.”
