Buenos Aires, Argentina. The idea arose among the directors of dance groups in Navarrese clubs in Argentina, meaning the ones in Buenos Aires, Bolívar, Rosario and Mendoza. With the face-to-face rehearsals an impossibility, and needing to stay active, especially the adult groups, facing a year without the traditional San Fermin celebrations, the directors contacted Nora Urtasun and Ander Zudaire from the Ortzadar dance group in Iruña-Pamplona to hold a first virtual class.
During the gathering some twenty youth from Argentina learned and practiced Jaurrieta (Axuri Beltza), Aurresku and Zinta Dantza. “Easy dances, that don’t require partners, and with steps that can be easily explained online,” Maria del Pilar Alderete from the Centro Navarro in Buenos Aires explained.
Due to the event’s success, the group is now considering repeating the experience in the future, although a date has not been set yet. Remember that Nora Urtasun and Ander Zudaire, members of the Ortzadar dance group in Iruña-Pamoplona taught a series of dance classes in Argentina and Uruguay in 2018.
