Before saying good-bye for the last time, the community enjoyed a wonderful show of Basque and Argentine dances, and the local community, taking advantage of the beautiful weather, went to the Mitre Plaza. After the traditional lunch, all that was left was to say “goodbye” and so that’s what club president, Damian Cebey did. In his words, Cebey also announced that Semana Nacional Vasca 2018 will be in Mar del Plata. Today in EuskalKultura.com, the last chronicle of SNVSN 2017.

San Nicolas, Argentina. Semana Vasca Argentina 2017 ended with the same prolixity with which it developed since Monday the 6^th. And that is not enough for the club that hosted some 600 individuals from the community during the entire weekend that presented a real challenge that the club met head on, and who are also very enthusiastic with the results. They even are entertaining the idea of hosting the event again in the future.

Shortly after the festival, and after mass, the last tribute took place in front of the Tree from Gernika around which Cebey and other board members planted some forget me nots.

Plaza dancing also took place at the Mitre Plaza. Besides the typical Ezpata Dantza, Lore Uztaiak, Uztai Txikiena and San Miguel, the youth also danced, according to tradition, two chacareras, one performed by the Basque-Argentine group Baietz and the other by Nestor Garnica.

During lunch, organizers distributed magazine from Semana Nacional and the last farewells took place including one to the Basque Government representatives who also said “agur,” promising to participate in next year’s Semana Vasca in Mar del Plata.
