This festive day that is co-organized annually aby the National Federation of Navarrese Centers and the Government of Navarre, with the support of a town in the Provincial community elected each year to host the event, will come to Cascante next Saturday for its 29th edition.  The initiative hopes to pay tribute to those from Navarre who had to leave their homeland, but who have never forgotten where they are from, and who work to maintain this connection.

Iruña-Pamplona, Navarre.   The 29th edition of the festivities was presented yesterday at a press conference held by Ana Ollo, minister of Citizen and Institutional Relations at the Government of Navarre. She was accompanied by Iciar Ortiz de Urbina, president of the National Federation of Navarrese Centers, and by Cascante’s Mayor, Alberto Añon.

Minister Ollo reiterated the support from the Government of Navarre for “this festive day that represents the welcome, solidarity and appreciation for all of those citizens of Navarre who live abroad, and who form such an important part of our Provincial Community.”

The event is foreseeing gathering representatives from the many Navarrese clubs spread through the Spanish geography (Cantabria, Burgos, Bilbao, Barakaldo, Arrasate-Mondragon, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Logroño, Zaragoza, Valladolid, Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville). A series of events has been organized for them that will begin the night before, on Friday the 2nd, with a presentation of the events at the local town hall, a jota performance by “Alegria Ribera” and the local Jota School, and a tribute to the city by the Federation of Navarran Homes.
