The Official Bulletin of the Basque Country (BOPV) published on Friday, May 27th included a resolution from May 18 that opens the call for aid for Basque clubs to take care of and assist members in situations of extreme need abroad in 2016. The total budget allocated is 202,000 Euros. This officially opens the application period for these grants.
Vitoria-Gasteiz. The annual call form the Secretary General of Foreign Action of the Basque Government that drives the Directorate of the Basque Community Abroad published its 2016 edition of grants for individuals in extreme need in Basque centers abroad. Individuals wishing to take advantage of this aid, need to do so through a Basque club in their locality, or, through whichever club is closest in proximity to the individual. The request should be made as soon as possible in order to allow time to create the application and submit it to the Basque Government.
Applicants must also comply with the following criteria:
a) Prove Basque community membership
b) Reside abroad
c) Lack of assets and income to cope with care needs, or situations of dire need
d) Reside in a private home, and not be a member of organizations, communities or institutions that are obliged to assist them by their rules or statues.
Anyone interested in this aid, who complies with the criteria, need to visit with their Basque club, so that the application can be completed. Members should complete the process through their respective Basque clubs, or through the one that is closest to them in proximity if not a member of one.
Basque clubs should submit applications signed by the person in question, according to the model provided in the Resolution.
