Paris, France. It was a festive Basque weekend in Paris, with the Basque club’s annual assembly, and a Basque festival. On Saturday, Korrika 21 traveled the Street between Montmartre and the Basque clubhouse in Saint-Ouen in support of the Basque culture and language. The Pariseko Eskual Etxea also held its Annual Assembly where Sebastien Daguerre was applauded for his wonderful management as club president. We will talk more about this in a future article.
Without a doubt, the concert by the Bizkaian group, Gatibu, on Saturday night at the clubhouse captivated many as well as attracting fans also from Euskal Herria who traveled to Paris expressly for the concert. On Sunday, mass was celebrated by Aita Mounho to being a day that also included a traditional aperitif complete with improvised song and dance, along with a performance by the youngest dancers of the club. During lunch and throughout the day, singing and dancing continued thanks to the accompaniment provided by Jean-Louis Bergara and his group who also traveled from the Basque Country.
