Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Basque community in Argentina paid tribute to the Tree of Gernika that grows meters away from the Casa Rosada, seat pf the nation’s executive, last Saturday, one hundred years after planting it on May 11, 1919 in the presence of the President of Argentina at the time, Victorino de La Plaza and the local Mayor Arturo Gramajo. Saturday’s event was attended by officials from FEVA, Laurak Bat and representatives from Euskal Etxeas and other organisms including Sara Pagola the Delegate of Euskadi in Argentina and Gorka Alvarez Aranburu, Director for the Basque Government’s Basque Community Abroad.
