Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Buenos Aires International Book Fair will run April 25-May 13, 2019. Representing the Basque community, the Basque-Argentine Juan de Garay Foundation will be at stand #2123 in the Yellow Pavilion where there will be books by many authors for sale, as well as Basque products and souvenirs. The stand will also show promotional videos of Euskal Herria and respond to questions regarding surnames and Basque roots, with some authors present to autograph copies.
The presentation of books and new items from the Foundation will take place on May 7th at 6:30pm in the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Hall, at an event attended by Foundation President, Diego Maria Ibarbia. Jorge Beramendi will also present this year’s Foundation newsletter “Los Vascos,” as well as the 2018 Basques in Argentina. There will also be an exhibit on Euskera, its origins and characteristics.
The book fair will be inaugurated on April 25th with activities beginning on Tuesday for the publishing sector. The Basque stand will also be available to visitors specializing in topics related to books.
