Boiseko Ikastola, the Basque preschool in Boise, Idaho will change its location by June 1, 2015. After more than 16 years at the St. Paul’s Catholic Center on the Boise State University campus, Boiseko Ikastola will be relocating, as the Basque Museum of the town announced. “We are trying to find a place as close to downtown as possible, that will meet all the kids’ needs,” said Patty Miller, director of the institution, to EuskalKultura.com.
Boise, USA.- The St. Paul’s Catholic Center is expanding, and that’s the main reason why the Ikastola will have to move. As Miller told this bulletin, they are now considering different possibilities and are being assisted by Pam Sprute, a commercial real estate agent.
In spite of the fact that this will be a very busy year for the school, the Board of Directors is committed to make the best of the situation and improve their facilities. To do so, they are following the suggestions given by Idaho Stars, a referral source for quality child care in Idaho. As the director said, the new place will have to have enough room for at least two large classes, a small kitchen or a basic food preparation area, and a place to eat. The playing area will comply with regulations regarding playschools, like a fence, and there will also be a safe drop-off and pick-up area.
This being so, Ikastola is being renewed from the inside and the outside, as the institution updated its curriculum by purchasing Nubaris, a state-of-the-art learning material created by Basque prublishing company Ibaizabal.
