Boise, Idaho. From June 24 to July 9, 2012 a group of travelers will get to know Euskal Herria thanks to Boise State’s Educational Travel Programs. The expedition will include a guide, Dave Lachiondo, director of the Basque Studies Program at BSU, and a very active member of the Basque community in Boise, as well as a great connoisseur of the Basque Country.
The proposed itinerary includes a tour of the Basque coast from Bilbao to Iparralde with stops at the Guggenheim Museum, Urdaibai (Bermeo, Bakio, Elantxobe, Mundaka), and the historic provincial village of Gernika, Lekeitio (where one will enjoy the feast of San Pedro), Donostia, the beaches of Getaria and Zarautz, Azpeitia and the sanctuary of Loyola, as well as the coast of Iparralde.
Before February 10th
Cost of the trip is $3,999 that includes roundtrip travel from Boise, ground transportation, 14 nights at a hotel including breakfast, bus excursions, guided visits and museum admission. A $1,000 deposit is due by February 10th with final payment due before March 9th.
