Donostia-San Sebastian. Bernardo Atxaga, writer originally from Asteasu, is in Australia this week giving various talks and participating in literary gathering on a trip organized by the Etxepare Basque Institute. During his stay, Atxaga will visit the cities of Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.
The Basque novelist, poet and essayist’s itinerary will begin today at the “Adelaide’s Writers Week,” in the city of the same name. He will participate in the “In Translation” section where he will be interview along with Catalan writer Jordi Punti. Tomorrow, he will give a talk on his book Obabakoak.
On Wednesday, Atxaga will travel to Sydney where he will participate in a talk about Basque literature at the University of Sydney. The tour will conclude on Thursday with a talk about his work, at the University of Melbourne.
