The Basque writer Harkaitz Cano will be taking part in the literary festival organized in the city of Hyderabad, India. The Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) is an annual multidisciplinary and multilingual event that celebrates creativity in all its forms. Every year it draws over a hundred writers, artists, academics, scholars, and publishers from India and abroad.
Hyderabad, India. According to information provided by the Etxepare Basque Institute, Cano will participate today in a multilingual reading together with authors Alejandro Palomas (Catalan), Laltu (Hindi), Prathibha Nandkumar (Kannada) and BS Ramulu (Telugu).
Tomorrow, on Saturday January 27, he will be part of a panel titled "Writing from the Gut, Busting Stereotypes and Rekindling the Oral Tradition: A Panorama of Children & Young Adult Writing from Spain" with Alejandro Palomas, Ana Cristina Herreros, Maguma, and moderator Cristina Sánchez Andrade.
Started in 2010, the Hyderabad Literary Festival has emerged as an important event in the cultural calendar of the country. It represents the rich and cosmopolitan ethos of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, as well as the vibrant culture of modern Cyberabad.
The event includes talks, conversations, panel discussions, readings, workshops, exhibitions, book launches, cultural activities, and events for college students and school children.
The Festival is organized by the Hyderabad Literary Trust in collaboration with the Government of Telangana and with support from several cultural institutions.
Inviting a foreign country to showcase its literature, art and culture is a unique feature of HLF. This year Spain has been chosen for that.
