Donostia-San Sebastián. The last seat in Bizkaia was in the air, with a recount of votes cast in Euskadi that initially leaned towards EH Bildu, awaiting the results of votes cast abroad. As it happened in the last general elections, the votes form the Diaspora decided the last parliamentarian, in this case granting one less parliamentarian to HB Bildu, that remained with 21 and adding a new seat to the coalition of PP + Ciudadanos that now has six.
Remember that there was a difference of 108 votes between both formations and the votes from the Diaspora could confirm or modify the provisional data. The count of the CERA votes, held today Friday, has not finally given more votes to PP + Ciudadanos (127 votes) than it did to HB Bildu (180), but it has modified the quotients for the distribution of seats, always following the law d’Hont, reducing the difference to 33 votes. Afterwards there were claims about the votes cast at the tables, specifically one in Bilbao, where the PP demanded to reverse a discount of one hundred votes and the Electoral Board agreed with them, thereby deciding the question of the last parliamentarian.
Finally, the definitive results are: PNV (31 seats), EH Bildu (21), PSE-EE (10), Elkarrekin-Podemos (6), PP + Ciudadanos (6), Vox (1). With the new results the three parties from the left (EH Bildu, PSE and Elkarrekin-Podemos) lost the majority; and EAJ-PNV is now ahead of EH Bildu by 10 seats. The new parliamentarian from PP+Ciudadanos will be, Luis Gordillo, resulting in the 6 coalition seats being divided between the two with 4 seates for the PP and 2 for Ciudadanos.
