Córdoba, Argentina. With the pandemic and its restrictions, 2020, left us with a bad taste in our mouths and moments that we will never forget. However, it would not be fair not to highlight the work and commitment of various institutions in the Basque Diaspora that have adapted to the new conditions and provide an unending list of viable proposals during quarantine, contributing support and a breath of fresh air in these uneasy times
Today we provide a memory sent to us by the Gerora Basque Association in Cordoba, that includes the participation of musicians from different parts of Argentina. As part of Gerora's 10th anniversary activities and the celebration of Basque Diaspora Day, last September, members of the Club's “Lurra eta Haizea,” coordinated an instrumental version of the classic “Aldapeko,” from Cordoba.
As the video shows, there were 15 participants from the Basque community in Argentina who did individual recordings from home. Among the variety of instruments, it includes some of the most typical from Euskal Herria like the alboka, txalaparta, xirula and the ttunttun. This is how they sound from the Diaspora. Zorionak taldea!
