The second edition of the Basque Gastronomic Festival “Between land and see” is coming with a large program of activities that includes outings on the beach, and gastronomic events with the participation of renowned chefs. There will also be dance performances with a special voucher for dantzaris, a mus tournament and a dance. Come to San Francisco de Bellocq on December 6th and 7th to enjoy a weekend with the best of land, see, and Basque culture.

Under the name “Between Land and Sea,” the Basque Gastronomic Festival organized by the Pampa Vasca organization and the Hiru Erreka Basque club in Tres Arroyos hopes to stimulate tourism in this area of the province of Buenos Aires by highlighting not only the rural and coastal landscapes but also the activity and the presence of communities from abroad, in this case the Basque.
This is why the program includes outings and rides through the village of Bellocq, the beaches of Claromeco as well as Basque music and dance performances, craft fair – no food – but Basque themed, a Tortilla contest that will include Alvaro Arizmendi on the jury, winner of the “Argentine Cooks” program. (Contest rules here). The team from “Argentine Cooks” will also be present to cover the festival for TV on both days.
Also in the area of gastronomy, the festival will include this year the participation from Cordoba of Marita Echave, who will present her book Rural Basque Cooking on Sunday at 3:30pm. Iñaki Xavier Xalaberri Undhangarin (sic) will also prepare dinner on Saturday and will also give a talk on the art of cooking. Mus players won’t miss the event as they will compete in the “Domingo Echegoyen” tournament on Sunday starting at 8:30pm. There will also be a public dance to top off the weekend.
Voucher for dantzaris
In regards to the Basque dance performances, and in hopes of increasing the participation as much as possible, dance groups and organizing institutions have offered to the dantzaris a special voucher of $350 that includes lodging on Saturday (after 2pm) and on Sunday, meals and admission to the event on Sunday and the dance.
Interested groups should send a list of dancers’ names before December 1st to fiestagastronomicavasca@gmail.com.
