San Francisco, CA, USA. As every year, the end of August is season for Basque festivals in California. Beginning today in San Francisco, Basque Cultural Center's Jaialdia 2019, featyring singers, bertsolaris, pilotaris, dantzaris, klika and local musicians as well as invited guests with pilotaris Bixintxo Bilbao, Maxime Etcheverry, Peio Larralde and Jon Saint Paul; singer Michel Etcheverry, and music and entertainment provided by Jean-Louis Bergara and Beñat Chaubadindeguy. Former Basque chaplain, Aita Cachenaut, will also make a visit and concelebrate mass on Sunday with Aita Iturbe.
The guests from Euskal Herria will carry on their tour of California with a stop next week at the Kern County Basque Club in Bakersfield, on their way to Chino where they will also perform at the annual Basque picnic there on Labor Day Weekend.
