We know that traveling to the Basque Country is a constant wish of Basques in the Diaspora, and that it s a dream that comes true in many cases. More and more tourists also consider the Basque Country as an attractive and interesting destination. For all of them, there is a new online magazine “Basque Country Magazine,” that will be a discovery publication for cell phones and tablets with photos, interviews, articles, directions…everything necessary to travel, in person or virtually to the land of the Basques.
Bilbao, Bizkaia. The first issue concentrates just on three provinces: Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, but if you are planning a trip to Euskadi, or if for now you have settled for dreaming to visit the country of your ancestors, the digital magazine “Basque Country Magazine,” is for you. It is an online free publication designed for smartphones and tables that is available at the App Store and will soon be available on Google Play for Androids. All you have to do is download it and users can then travel through Euskal Herria virtually and begin to plan their dream trip.
The magazine is also available on its website in five languages, Basque, Spanish, French, English and German. It is a tool designed by the Basque Government thanks to the Departrment of Business and Tourism, the Directorate of Tourism and the Basquetour agency.
The first issue concentrates on three provinces: Araba, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa with a series of reports, proposed activities, interviews and suggestions from those being interview, known personalities like Juan Mari and Elena Arzak, Edurne Pasaban, Eneko Atxa, Javier Agirresarobe or surfer, Artiz Aranburu among others. We like the “Experiences” section with different proposed activities to get to know the various places and “Less than an Hour,” for recommendations in the vicinity of Bilbao, Donostia and Gasteiz.
Another of the magazine’s attractions is the links that it provides on social media for Euskadi tourism. Facebook, Twitter and Google +, with daily proposals for activities and visits; You Tube with a number of videos and reports, Flickr, Pinterest and Instagram with numerous pictures of various Basque places….Finally, a world of images, maps and sensations to lose yourself in…and find yourself on the right track.
